RT Clown Inc. Unique Brand of Entertainment Featured In Recent Newspaper Article

Robin Charin is the CEO of R.T. Clown Inc., and one of the best known owners in the event planning industry throughout Southern California. She started her company in 1985, and continues to bring her unique brand of entertainment to every event she is hired to coordinate.

R.T. Clown Inc. is such a unique company, and Robin is so passionate about creating memorable events, that both she and her company were featured recently in a Manhattan Beach newspaper. The article is a great read because it really provides a glimpse into the genius and unique personality of the woman who is behind R.T. Clown Inc.

Creating a Business Out of a Personality

Robin loves a great production and loves to add a bit of entertainment to just about anything she does. For example, her wedding featured a John Wayne look alike for the justice of the peace, while Robin was carried down the aisle in a raised throne, resembling a modern-day Queen Victoria.

Because of her flair for entertainment, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that before starting her business, Robin studied at Boston University and Boston Conservatory to be an actress and singer, performing in New York Theater. In 1978, she moved to Los Angeles where she tried her luck on the silver screen. She got bit parts, but it was a difficult way to make a living. She eventually went to work for an entertainment company in the San Fernando Valley, where she coordinated children’s birthday parties. However, she quickly decided she could produce better shows than her employer, and opened R.T. Clown Inc., short for “Robin the Clown.”

R.T. Clown Inc. Quickly Grows To Become a Leading Entertainment Production Company

Robin quickly grew her business into a full-scale event and entertainment production company that can do any size event for just about any type of company. For example, some of the events she specializes in include:

  • Company Picnics
  • Corporate Parties
  • Shopping Mall Santa Clauses
  • Team Building Events
  • Halloween Parties

R.T. Clown Has Produced More Than 35,000 Events throughout Southern California

One of the things that make R.T. Clown Inc. so unique is that Robin has created a deep bench of professional actors and performers from which to pull. This troupe can turn an average celebration into a one-of-a-kind entertainment extravaganza.  Since opening her doors, Robin has organized more than 35,000 events that involve some of the following cast of characters:

  • Magicians
  • Musicians
  • Jugglers
  • Unicyclists

Robin is proud to have an 85 percent repeat business, and include United Airlines, Westfield Shopping Malls, Ritz-Carlton Hotels, The Jonathon Club, and The Beach Club among some of her clients.

“This list of entertainment we can provide is endless,” said Robin. “I’m very happy to accommodate my clients. Whatever they want. If it’s some form of entertainment and somebody has it and I don’t have it, I’ll find it for them.”

Three Ways to Make Your Halloween Party Frighteningly Awesome

Fall has a way of attracting entertainment. For example, each autumn you can count on events like the World Series, new network television shows, and lots of Halloween parties. To help you organize your next Halloween bash, R.T. Clown Inc., a leading event planning company in Manhattan Beach, is providing three great ideas to help make your next Halloween event frighteningly awesome.

It All Starts With a Good Invitation

Any event worth attending will almost always be announced through an invitation. Obviously invitations provide potential guests pertinent facts as where, what time, what to wear, and whether or not guests are expected to bring anything. However, a good invitation can also set the mood, and create excitement among your guests for something very special. Halloween invitations can be especially creative because they can be made from simple, black cutout bats, witches, and ghosts.

Set the Stage with Halloween Décor

Nothing says “party” like a room totally decked out with thematic decorations. Again, Halloween is a great occasion to “get your decorating on.” Decorations can run the gambit from dangling spiders to carved pumpkins and bat stenciled tablecloths. With a little research and just a bit of imagination, creating Halloween-themed decorations can relatively easy to make and positively limitless in reach.

TIP: One of our favorite ideas to make great fake spider cobwebs is to take some cotton bunting simply rip it apart and start stretching it in any direction you want. It looks authentic and always gets at least one scream!

Don’t Leave Home Without A Costume!

R.T. Clown Inc. has been creating Halloween events for more than three decades, so we know a thing or two about costumes. There are two general strategies when addressing the costume question: should I make my own costume or should I buy a costume. As one of the most successful Halloween event planning companies in Southern California, R.T. Clown Inc. has tons of costumes and themed character outfits on hand for any Halloween event. However, we also like a great homemade costume as well! Three of our favorite homemade costume ideas include:

  1. Wind-Up Doll

Just take your favorite baby doll-like dress and thigh-high socks, and some dramatic makeup. Add a large ribbon in your hair, and make a big cardboard key to attach to your back. The key to pull this costume off is to walk mechanically.

  1. Big Box Present

This is an easy one. Take a big cardboard box and cut holes out for your arms. Wrap it with some festive paper, add a ribbon, and you big gift as your costume.

  1. Bat

Bats are always a great Halloween costume. You can make the wings out of an old umbrella and then find a black outfit.

Consider incorporating an award for the best costume or the scariest costume. It is not only a great way to acknowledge great costumes, it also lets your guests know getting dressed up in character will be a serious component to your party.

Send Them Home with Goody Bags

Just like invitations start the Halloween party event off correctly, sending your guests home for the night with small goody bag can be one of the best ways to thank them for coming and to present something as a reminder of the event. The best bags are also Halloween themed, and filled with candy or small toys.

Three Tips for Planning Your Next Corporate or Private Event

Great event planning involves much more than organizing the music, finding a decent venue, and making sure the food is hot. Expert event planners like Manhattan Beach’s  R.T. Clown Inc.understand that planning and producing great corporate or private events is an art that involves perfect coordination and a sharp eye for detail, but can ensure your event will be unique, memorable and a work of art.

R.T. Clown Inc. has been producing entertaining and memorable events throughout Southern California for more than three decades. The company has produced more than 35,000 events for all kinds of clients, including Barbara Streisand, Westfield Shopping Malls, The Jonathan Club, and United Airlines.

“It really doesn’t matter what kind of event our clients want, our expert event team is very serious about creating fun, and ensuring our clients have a memorable experience,” said Robin Charin, President of R.T. Clown Inc.

To help people plan their next event, Robin provided three great tips that anyone to follow who is considering planning a birthday party, corporate gathering, or classic holiday event.

Three Tips for Creating Great Corporate or Private Events

Make an experience that guests will remember

Remember, the best events successfully convert something typical into a very memorable experience. Robin focuses on grabbing the attention of her guests the second they walk into a room or onto a property. She emphasizes that one of the best ways to grab someone’s attention is to leverage the senses – especially sight. This can be done by meeting people with immediate smiles or visual movements by costumed entertainers. Using sound or even smells can also quickly engage guests through the senses, capturing the moment of the occasion while also creating a lasting memory.

Pick a Great theme

Choosing a theme is one of the best ways to make your special event memorable and entertaining. Whether it’s a family or company picnic, holiday party, corporate function, or private party, establishing a theme can create a memorable affair.

“R.T. Clown has access to more than 300 different professional actors or performers to help us establish a fun and memorable theme,” said Robin.

These talented entertainers can transform any event into a dynamic affair through improvised and well-rehearsed personas that embody fortune tellers, famous Disney characters, or real bearded Santa Clauses.  Other themed performers can include fire eaters, trick ropers, or candy sculptors.

Make Sure You Hire an Event Planning Professional

A professional event planning company will ensure your event comes off without a hitch while also eliminating headaches for the host. However, even more important than coordinating and eliminating stress, a professional event management company will also provide the expertise and resources required to make your next event customized and visually entertaining.
